Increase CO2 production *without* a fall in blood pH. This stage of exercise is known as the "isocapnic buffering" period.

剛才讀書會時一學生剪貼它的意義
大致上是指運動當中二氧化碳增加,可被緩衝掉,pH還未下降的時段(period).
硬翻譯成中文有必要嗎?
